The Department of Operation and Repair of Machines was created in 1937. Since 1938, it has been named after the Department of Machine Operations. Later, the name of the department was changed to the department “Operation of Machine and Tractor Fleet”. In the first days of the creation of the department, it was headed by Associate Professor V. E. Konkov. V. E. Konkov headed the department until 1951. In those years, one of the first signs of the Institute, M.S. Lutsenko, worked at the department. In 1960, he defended his Ph.D. thesis, received the title of associate professor and was elected head of the department. M.S.Lutsenko headed the department until 1967. One of the important events of the post-war years was the publication of the book “Integrated Mechanization of Cotton Growing”, published on the basis of a number of scientific studies by associate professor V.E. Konkov and senior lecturer M.S. Lutsenko. In the 1950s, in connection with the development of the department’s activities and an increase in the volume of work, graduates of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization “TIIIMSH”, candidate of technical sciences M.I. Landsman, and later N.A. Zhelnov, M.N. Sharapov were hired and A.I. Korsun. During these years, postgraduate graduates T.M. Musaev and V.P. Grudtsyn began their first activities as teachers at the department. In December 1967, Associate Professor M.I. Landsman was elected to the position of head of the department. During his leadership, he increased attention to scientific work at the department. During these years, among the teachers, M.A. defended their Ph.D. dissertations. Anarkulov, Z.Yu. Yusupov, F.K. Dadabaev, Sh.U. Urdiev, as well as the head of the laboratory S.A. Alikulov. At that time, out of 13, 10 teachers of the department had a candidate’s academic degree. Since 1984, associate professor F.K. Dadabaev was elected head of the department. His doctoral dissertation was defended by Sh.U. Yuldashev in 1981, A.I. Korsun – in 1983, and in the same year Sh.U. Yuldashev was elected to the position of head of the department of “Machine Repair”. In 1995-2002, the department of “Operation of machine and tractor fleet” was headed by Professor S.S. Sulaimonov.

Since 2002, the departments of “Machine Repair” and “Operation of Machine and Tractor Fleet” have been combined into the department of “Operation and Repair of Machine and Tractor Fleet”, the head of which is Associate Professor E.T.Farmonov. In connection with the transfer of the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization to the Tashkent State Agrarian University in 2004, based on a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, this department was merged with the Department of Agricultural Equipment to form the Operation and Repair of Agricultural Equipment. Department of Mechanical Engineering. Associate Professor O.K. was elected head of the department. Urinbaev. In 2005-2010, the department was headed by Associate Professor D.A. Alizhanov. in 2010-2012 - Professor B.P. Shaymardonov.

In 2012, the department was divided into two, on the basis of which the departments “Agricultural Machinery” and “Operation of Machine and Tractor Fleet and Maintenance” were created. Associate Professor R. Khalilov was elected to the position of head of the department of “Operation and Maintenance of Machine and Tractor Fleet”. In May 2017, on the basis of Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 3003, the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers was created, and within the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization, the department “Operation and Repair of Machinery” was created and Associate Professor A.K. Igamberdiev was elected head of the department.

There are a total of 10 teaching staff at our department, including 3 professors, 4 associate professors (+1 part-time) and 2 assistants. In February 2023, the name of the department was changed to “Engineering Control Systems”. From August 31, 2023, associate professor Berdimuratov Parakhat Tadzhimuratovich was elected head of the department.
